Cellulite is excess fat that is built up in one’s body. It bulges through the middle layer of the skin to create a dimpled skin surface. It’s also known as orange peel syndrome, cottage cheese skin, and the mattress phenomenon or hail damage. Genetics, hormonal factors, diet, clothing and lifestyle are the predisposing factors to this condition. Eating healthy, low fat foods such as fruits, vegetables, and fiber, exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, reducing stress, wearing comfortable clothes are recommended to prevent cellulite.
