Sagging Skin

This condition presents itself as tired looking, droopy skin. The skin loses its natural spring, suppleness and tightness. As we age, our skin loses collagen and elastin, our skin’s supportive connective tissue. This tissue makes our skin look supple, plump and youthful. Along with this our facial muscles weaken with age, giving us a tired and sloppy look. Gravity further pulls down our facial skin. Excessive sun exposure, loss of large amount of weight over a short period of time and smoking contribute further to skin sagging. Moisturizing is key to delaying this condition. Vitamin A, C, alpha and beta hydroxy acids in moisturizers help in tightening the skin. Collagen and hyaluronic acid fillers can help too.
