Winter skin! Help! I need something really hydrating! Any ideas?

It's the dead of winter and freezing outside. The cold and the wind are really drying my skin out. How do you protect and moisturize your skin during the winter? I feel like I need to change my routine up! Try something really moisturizing. Maybe treat myself to something luxurious for my skin!

You can use an oil-based moisturizer instead of a water-based one. Oils create a protective layer that helps skin retain the maximum amount of moisture — vital during this dry, chilly season. Be sure to find products that contain non-clogging oils such as avocado, mineral, primrose or almond oil.

Love to try "do it yourself" masks! I've heard papaya is really good for your skin. This mask sounds delicious for my skin. Can't wait to try it! Thanks!

Here's your anser on How to combat Dry, Flaky skin- http://blog.myskin.com/expert/how-to-combat-dry-flaky-skin/ How about an apple mask; get a spa-like experience at home:) Apple masks are great in combating dryness, wrinkles, and skin flaking. Mix a tablespoon of grated apple (skin on) and a tablespoon of unsalted butter to a tablespoon of honey. To this mixture add a yolk of one egg. This mask provides intense moisturizing and skin tightening effects when applied for twenty minutes on the face. If your skin feels tired mix 1 tablespoon of grated apple, 1 tablespoon of mashed pulpy papaya to ½ tablespoon of fresh cream. Leave this mask on for twenty minutes and wash off with ice cold water. Your skin is refreshed and rejuvenated. On a Sunday, you could also massage in apricot oil + essential oils! This works wonders for dry skin... with this massage skin feels soft, hydrated and the oils are a mood-upper in these cold months.
