Why does my face break out from makeup?

You're probably allergic to the makeup. I can wear a pound of MAC with no problem, but a drop of L'oreal will trash my skin. If your skin is sensitive and prone to breakouts, a good place to start is mineral makeup. It has less stuff in it than cream/liquid so it's usually better for sensitive skin. But be warned, mineral makeup is NOT good for dry skin (and yes, your skin can be dry and acne prone at the same time). Mineral makeup on dry skin will sink into your pores and look like a disaster. For liquid/cream you might want to try Clinique. I think their skin care is complete garbage, but they do make good foundation for people with sensitive skin. Or you could go a whole different road and get a BB cream. A real Korean one, not an American one which is a glorified tinted moisturizer. BB creams are foundation plus sun screen plus anti aging plus anti-acne plus everything else. Check out the blog "Musings of a Muse" for the low down on Asian BB creams as well as lots of reviews. (I am not the Muse, just a fan of her). Usually BBs only come in one color, so the trick is finding one that works for you, but Missha M does make BB creams in a range.
