Why am I getting pimples around my mouth? What can help me get rid of them?

I think eos the Chapstick was the cause

I actually thought putting moisturizer on the pimples would help.

Generally those are hormonal, but any lip gloss or lipstick or Chapstick could also be the culprit. Try a little less moisturizer there as well. I have also known toothpaste to cause problems, but that tends to be more rash like
