Does makeup cause acne?

My skin is always oily around the t-zone and I always break out. I would definitely like to start wearing make up but I don't want any of my acne getting worse! Please help!!!

Yes, remember cleaning your brushes on a weekly basis will minimize the breakouts.

Makeup will not cause acne as long as it is non-comedogenic (will not clog pores) if you find you are breaking out and your makeup is non-comedogenic your acne is being caused by hormones, stress, not washing your face properly or another underlying problem. If your skin is just naturally acne prone try to get a foundation specifically formulated for your skin type (Clinique and neutrogena both have one for acne prone skin). Also make sure you wear sunscreen the sun can actually cause you to break out. Hope this helps. :)

Yes it does, I might only be 12 but trust me it does. From having something on your face that is either to heavy or your skin is not used to it can cause acne because ur skin is trying to create a barrier that cleans the skin and helps it come of. That is why they made primer. A majority of times this " barrier" is a thin or thick layer of oil which collects the makeup from the face and combines with the product or makeup.after ur makeup has come off ur face, the oil gets absorbed by the skin which has the dirt and makeup in it causing acne. Get a mineral makeup. You'll be surprised at how much it covers, and its healthy for your skin! Just look out for brands that say they're mineral...but then contain mostly cosmetic ingredients that can clog pores. There are some on the market that are great with oil control too ;)

Buy make up that is suitable for acne skin and have no oil. U can also try wearing makeup for sensitive skin. Look for something that won't clog and pores and always remove all your makeup before bed.
